I live in Puerto Rico, it is a mountainous island. Our topography doesn't allow even AT&T to have a usable signal everywhere. I have to use the MVP when in a no service area and spend tokens. I would say 98% of the POPULATED areas have coverage but area wise only 75% of the island has coverage. The software needs to be protected but what good does it do if you can't use it everywhere?

In many areas of the world, it would not be a problem.

A poor internet line would off course, make things more difficult.
And remote areas would struggle a bit.

The most important thing for the developer, is to protect the tool of being copied.
Have you ever done a job in a parking garage? Rarely have signal there unless I'm at the top of the building where it's not cover by several stories of concrete.

After 28 yrs. I think I've been through almost ever issue as a locksmith. I have 5 Casino that never close (night, day, rain or shine I'm out there working). But once again I can only advise them and reject what I don't like. Even if I ran the company I could not please you all. But I start these thread I'm sticking to it, keep punching away. My support will still be there for these tool and what ever I can share with forum. 2 month is there last deadline, then we have a second option.

This is reminding me of the "modified" cn900 cloner that AKS was selling. They promised some features that would be added...Never happened. All it turn out to be was an over priced CN900 with a US flag sticker. Know some people who got full refunds from AKS as they never got what was promised.

AKS sold an over priced CN900....No matter how you want to look at it. Just like now with PS80 and PS80 "L"...AKS is selling an over priced PS80 for about $1400 more. If they do add the stuff that was promised, then technically I can not compare with the standard ps80. Till then...it's an over priced ps80... Hopefully the new firmware removes all the crap.

It cannot be done via OBD. Need to read eeprom on SKIM module with another device.

You say the AKS PS80L/PS90L doesn't offer anything extra that the Chinese version of the PS80/PS90 doesn't have?

AKS has improved the tool by 60% his tool has beta files in it he just wants more. Just like you have the H system offline. There a lot missing from the Chinese version

2006 Chrysler 300, manual, can 1, programmed without pulling pin code. Ray, I appreciate your hard work on this tool. For me, it has been the greatest thing since sliced bread, and the only failure i have had probably was because the car had been in an accident.
I have, and will continue to use it as much as possible and post results here on your DK thread.

ray-ray... I'm not complaining. I wanted to know EXACTLY why the AKS version is so MUCH better than the other. I haven't used the non-AKS so I don't know. I know what the purpose of the tool is in your mind. I know we still need the older tools for older stuff. I know that if the PS80L can't do it, you will tell us what other machine can do it. I like your support. Thanks.

What worries me is that the tool may be discontinued if things go bad and I will be stuck with a $2,200 tool.

They have added very little stuff to justify the price increase... H reset keeps being brought up like its a big deal...Well anyone with a $30 dollar chinese cable, Free software and 16 minutes(NO internet) can do this.

    60% improvement?
Here is the difference between PS80 and "L"
"L" has all the same software as 80 but they have added three new programs into it.

Toyota/Lex USA, Ford USA and US Chrysler

    - Toy/lex has H reset and 2012+ Smart reset(Both require internet) (Works amazing!!!!!)
    - Ford USA has quick resets for several systems (still has several bugs)
    - Chrysler has more pin read capabilities(Has some bugs)

That's it...Can think of anything extra the "L" offers at this time. All other makes are 100% same like the PS80. GM is currently the worst software.

Ray...don't take this as a personal attack. I always believe its good to put everything out there for it to be modified, upgraded or fixed.

Forgot to add. Erick has been great at technical support when he has time. Met both Ray and Erik at JC and they know their stuff.
