Should be 93C56 in Evo 7/8/9. Those pegs just push back in I seem to remember - haven't disassembled one for a long time. Easiest is remove back cover plate with 4 screws and solder onto the back of eeprom. Same connection as this IMG_1684.JPG
Ok just did a 2005 Lancer Evo for the first time it was a 93C66 DIP 8 EEPROM but I noticed right away when I pulled cluster apart that it had these little spring posts or something that slips into each motor 4 per stepper motor for the mph, tach, fuel etc. any who do these just slip in and out of the gauge motors or did I break them? To me it just seems they all lide in and out of motors anyone else see these before?

It's ok ...No problem all you have to do is place the board on top of the spring and gently press it back again when you are done.

hmmm, I used usa prog and could have swore I wrote as a 66 but maybe i'm crazy either way I have original dump, the problem is now the fuel & temp are reading way higher I took a pic of the needles before removing them and installed the same way turning counter clock wise till I felt resistance and it would sit just below the cold and empty marks but its reading higher, could and improper dump cause this?
Mate....If there is a problem with the eeprom writing it shouldn't affect anything else.I've done this mistake several times and got error or flashing digits on cluster display.

You have to adjust those needles manually and KOEO position

I have plenty of dumps for these if you need one - they are at work though so can't post up until Monday
