    Default Upgrade/Downgrade VAG ECU software version with VAS and Odis_E

    Hello,
    I want to upgrade software version on VAG ECU with VAS5054A and Odis_E.
    For example if I upgrade from FL_03L906023LC_8806 to FL_03L906023LC_9977 :

    1) Do I have to make adaptations or other things after doing an upgrade ?
    2) Same question for downgrade (to get latest software before dieselgate) ?

    Thank you very much !

    Some units loose coding
    for others need to make adaptations and basic settings
    always make a full autoscan backup with vcds
    50w Soldering Iron
    Chisel
    Sometimes Hammer

    the good thing is that even if that dosnt work you have the program to upgrade f/w again

    be very interested to see if this works , have a few customers with later f/w that l have put off remapping

    l have a feeling odis will not let you downgrade , might need to rename the file to make it think its the newer one ?

    With FGTech_0475 I have written successfully Original.bin extracted from Original.sgo.
    Tested with same ecu software version than installed on the car badly remapped.
    100% OK.

    Will this procedure also work with a different ECU software version than installed on the car ? (with .bin extracted from .sgo)

    No but I just want to understand how it works.
    I did a PCR2.1 three days ago and everything worked perfectly with FGTech_0475 !

    lm the same , any idiot can flash a car but they cant recover a problem , shame there isnt a video somewhere showing the flashing with offline cracked software , read the readme and looks easy to recover and then be able to flash or unlock again , but l have a spare ecu l killed just to test if it can be recovered on the table but dont think or known if thats possible with Odis_E

    pcr2.1 is a scary ecu , want to know as much as possible about recovery

    Sorry for a bit of offtopic question, but is the version '9977' for given ECU an update to address the DieselGate issue or is it some other update prior to that?

    Thanks.
    I can calculate ABS module codings for:
    * Continental/Teves MK60EC1 and MK60;
    * TRW systems in Passat B6 / B7 / CC /Tiguan;
    * MK100
    ;
    * Bosch ABS8.2, ABS9.0 and ESP8.2, ESP9.0;
    * EBC 460 (UP!, Mii, Rapid, CitiGo, Fabia, Toledo, etc) New!
    *
    ... and other VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda modules.I can assist with repairing \/CDS interfaces.

    Thanks for information!
    Also, any ideas if there were any updates between 9972 (non G.D. related) till 9977 (D.G. fix)?
    I might want to ask the dealership to flash the latest one pre-DieselGate for best performance and to get the most recent fixes

    Thanks a lot!

    Ha ha, good point on that!
    Luckily there seems to be a guy locally who has got some Chinese knock-off VAS tool. He told me that his software database is dated 2016-06.
    Hope with assistance from him it'll be possible to select which version to flash.
    These forums are a great resource of information and experience.
    Thanks guys for sharing.

    in odis-e ther some where is a tick box that u can tick or untick to not check the file version , so with odis u can go down and up in SW normaly odis say the file u want to write is older and do not want to write , but with thre tick box it posable i think under " admin . settings "
