2006 reg, astra 1.8xer. I have a faulty cim module, and trying to use a reset used second hand cim module. it will program but will not let me program transponder keys to it, so will not start. am I right in thinking I cannot use a secondhand cim with original transponder key to car. is there a way of programming it manual. if I change eeprom inside cim to used cim will this work with no programming needed. thanks

on opel you can not learn key from sh cim , if you reset cim and ipc . uec . rec .ecu and instal sh cim old keys must be used ...or a non programed key

Hi M8,
Not totally true, I had changed and reset CIM modules and still using same old key/transponders, in inmo functions just erase transponders/keys before program it, and will accept.
Regards.
Keys from broken cim cannot be used anymore. You must erase all keys and reprogram old keys from donnor car. Or you can reprogram a new key with new transponder
change in key transponder PCF7941,precoded with FVDI,and after programing to car.If you not precoded, remote not work, but engine running.
Carprog 8.21,xprog 5.55,galletto v54,kess and ktag rework
This is already solved, PCF7941 cant be precoded for remote key, transponder will only start car, please dont write this rumors anymore...original transponder have eeprom part which is like FW for that key, if you put new transponder, your eeprom part is not properly programmed, and remote will never work

Just a quick update, I fitted a new cim module from vauxhall. It will let me program the cim,but when I try to program transponder keys from car it always fails. I am using op com which I use many times, can anyone help.
When you programmed it did you select.. CIM unit replaced. ECM unit replaced, or CIM and ECM replaced?
I've also seen opcom fail to program a good known key belonging to car and tech2 programmed it right away..
You will be lucky if your cloned opcom can do this, even the genuine vauxcom is iffy.
Factory Tech2 is the correct tool been there in the same boat before.
Since been using the factory tool no problems.
op com is working i do this job many times

I can confirm.Opcom do this job perfectly.
Programmed new key, all working. According to a vauxhall master tech, there is some com modules that require a new key programming to them before it will work. Some work some don't. Thanks for all help
OP com works 100% on astra H Zafira B
only issue with op com is which firmware is installed, AstraH Zaf B 1.45 works never failed. when working on Corsa C I always downgrade to firmware 1.39 & again everything works never failed with op com.
