Default CarProg & Opel Corsa D IPC M35080/080D0WQ

Hello to everyone! I bought CarProg clone to read M35080 (080D0WQ) EEPROM.

I can't find any guide to connect this EEPROM to the CarProg. I also found two pinouts, standard and special. Which one this EEPROM is using? Which adapter should I use? I don't want to screw up something and damage the EEPROM. If that happens I will have a dead IPC and that's a no-go.

I want to program the IPC on my car. For that I need the security code of this instrument cluster as I bought it second hand without code.

As I have read on another post, some guy was asking for testing this IPC on bench. I experimented with GMLAN and I did a bench tester with Arduino + MCP2515/2551 for this Dash. I will post a tutorial.

    Thank you.

You can use A6 or A4 adapters for reading 080D0WQ .
I have made by myself adapter with SMD socket so I can easy read eeproms with it.

Thank you. I tried that, but CarProg says No response from the unit and on EEPROM read option gives only FF FFs. Another member on this forum suggested changing the 74HC125D to read M35080 and other EEPROMs better.

Do you have CarProg original or clone? If you have photos of the insides of the unit, can you please send them via PP or post them here? I think something is messed up in my unit, I probably should change 74HC125s and make better grounding points. Maybe use and external 12V supply also.

This forum members and others sucessfully read & write M35080 EEPROMs. Why should I buy a specific programmer for that EEPROM? I don't fix cars for a living, I just need it for my own car..

If you have carprog clone, it probably have low quality adapters, especially A6...go to their official site and see wiring diagram for A4 adapter, campare it with the one you got. After you checked that, solder wires to eeprom and read it. BUT, you will need another blank eeprom because carprog can't erase 080D0WQ

Thank you. I will compare the adapter with the official pinout and make my own adapter. Here is a photo of my board with GND and Vcc pins circled.

Here is M35080 pinout corresponding to my M35080/080D0WQ

    8BLRdCk.jpg

If I use A4 EEPROM adapter which wires go here?

I can't seem to find the main CARPROG port pinout so I can guess the wires for Serial Input, Serial Output, Serial Clock, Chip Select and so on.

If you have option Autodetect, there you can find diagrams for A4 adapter...

Hi, as I have said You in PW.

I also cant read it till i have unsolder it from the PCB.
You have to unsolder it than READ and save if You do not have R270+, than You have to have a new clear M35080/080D0WQ memory and on the new memory write new milage, solder it and done!!

    So one more time:
    UNSOLDER>>READ>SAVE>CHANGED HEX.BIN FILE TO NEW MILLAGE>NEW EEROM>WRITE>SOLDER

    OR In CARPROG
    UNSOLDER>>READ>SAVE>READ KM>>NEW EEROM>WRITE KM>SOLDER

Yes, I understand, no problem to unsolder from PCB. One thing bugs me the most!

    According to this diagram
    EEPROM A4 WIRING MANUAL.jpg

Grey wire is on +5V. On the A4 adapter wiring diagram Gray wire is connected to Pin 1 on the LPT port. Pin 1 on my CarProg is GND, while I receive 5V on the Blue wire (Pin 5). I don't know what is going on here.

But are You sure that you look on the diagram and adapter in good way?
I mean that if you have Eeprom and rotate them than everythinks change....

look as the pin 1 on Eeprom and Pin1 other wire color on Adapter/Clip - in My CAR PROG CLONE The wires isolation are all black exept PIN1 wchich is white and here Pin1 is also white.

I unsoldered the EEPROM, tried A6 adapter, only got FF FFs. When I soldered the EEPROM back on the IPC the cluster won't turn on. Maybe EEPROM got damaged?

    EDIT:

I tried again with A4 adapter. I get some 80s, FC, F8, FE and verify error. What does this mean?
