Ok it seems that maybe my comments were a bit premature. It seems that with the 12/03/2009 some people were experiencing problems with teletext being on even if switched off. Just read on a post that when using this firmware it sorts that problem out. So my conclusion would be that if you don't have this problem don't bother with it. Yet if you do then try this out as some claim that it helped.

It was released on a couple of forums as a work in progress for feedback, not a full release. The intention was for it to be used by people with the problems to report if it was fixed.

It has fixed the favourite issue and fixed the subtitles issue for the people that were having problems, or at least the ones that have provided feedback.

Given the response, I will recommend that future Beta's be more closely released.

I think it is good that you released it for feedback lincsat as it gives us non tech types hope that a new firmware release for the 7000 is imininent ..... and that different areas are affected with different problems ..... keep up the good work and thanks for your support.

Hi. Thx very much for the welcome and the info. Fairly new to this. Just kinda dabble basically. Had starviews and digivoxes for ages with no major problems but don't really know all the ins n outs. Anyway, got it done n seems to be working ok with the march 09 firmware. Just that wee problem with subtitles but can flick between this box for HD n digivox for others. Don't know whether to try beta or just leave.

I bought a new EX7000 which I think is already flashed with this firmware.

If I go to the sys info menu, it says "Last Update: 21st September 2009". Is this the date it was last flashed or the firmware release date?

From the wording I would be tempted to think this was when it was last flashed but it seems too much of a coincidence that it's the same as the firmware release date?

The software version is listed as 00.01-00

So is this the firmware I have installed?

I have on occasions had it come up as channel name but usually get the name of whatever is on that channel. For example recording of Liverpool vs Bham City on Sky not showing as Sky on recording but is showing as 1: Live_ Liverpool v Birmingham
