Default Galletto V54 read failed, safe to write?

    Hi

I read out my car today (Golf 4 EDC15VM+)

Laptop plugged to power and Car plugged to CTEK Multi US 25000 Charger (Supply only 14,2-14,3v)

First it would not give me ECU data, then I removed dash fuse and tryed like 5times and then suddenly i got the data.

Then it would not read the file, first time it went to 3% and then failed, second time it went to 100% and then program chashed, third time is failed to start. The last time I closed all, connected car and key on, open program and read, and I got the file.

My question is it safe for me to start trying to write a file to the car? kinda get the ECU bricked if it stops half way through?

Hope you guys can help me out

I did yes, turned it from charging (15v) to only supply (14+v)

In the Galletto manuel it says if your cpu usage is over 20% It will not start the progress?

But tryed my Leon (EDC15vm+) and it would not get ECU data (tryed 10times) but it Read in first try...

Does the car have the original radio? I think aftermarket radio's can interfere with the k line and cause problems (that might not be the same for your car though).

I had a ton of trouble reading my car (with standard radio), in the end I bought a cheep ebay mpps cable, that reads and writes perfectly.

I wouldn't try writing to my car if the read is unsuccessful, your stuck if it fails while writing.

    Good luck

    Hi

The Golf I unpluged dash fuse and was able to get ecu data and read out the file after some tryes (It has aftermarked radio)

The Seat I didn't unplug any fuse couldn't read ecu data but I read the file in first try (Has original Seat radio)

It is a Galletto V54 clone I use

I think the problem I had was immobiliser related, the car that struggled is a 2001 a6. The immobiliser interrupts the read I think and causes failures.

You can pull the ecu out and bench flash it, I did that in an emergency using crocodile clips. Frightening at first but it worked.

Are you flashing a new tune to the car?

First I just read out the ecu's but, when I'm hving trouble reading I don't think it's a good idea to write the ECU

The Golf is modded ok, alittle bad but okey. but it goes to Limp when pushing it (Because the "Pro tuner" have set the pump voltage to 5300mv at the end)

The Seat needs full remap (Really bad remap installed)
