your itunes might be corrupt and causing usb issues

    hotfix Support Page

Cumulative update rollup for USB core components in Windows Vista

    (32 Bit) Direct Link

Download details: Update for Windows Vista (KB941600)

    (64 Bit) Direct Link

Download details: Update for Windows Vista for x64-based Systems (KB941600)

if still not working try going to device manager and unistalling the driver with the ipod on full battery then scan for hardware devices.

very simple. unplug all usb device on your cpu. shut down your computer, unplug all power plug from wall socket or pocket socket. and wait for 30mins, after that connect all back and on your computer. thats all.

Have you tried in another computer ? It could be Vista!

Try stepping back a day or 2 in restore.

Check in system (control panel) and see in anything flags up that you can update the driver on.

Hi I have an old IPOD, the old type - silver case, black and white version. 20GB, It was working find. Then when I went back to use it many months later, the battery needed charging. But now I am not able to view any of my 11 GB of music files. When I connect to Itunees it wants me to update = reset the device which means I loooose all of my files. Any suggestions please?
