    Default CANBUS

    Hi friends -

anyone here have interest in CANBUS?

We can start thread. I am working to become CANBUS expert now. And J1850 or K-Line expert too is the plan but for now CANBUS is my big project.

Nice thread , however you are 10 years too late Today we are learning about Flex ray as CAN is too slow for new vehicles . You can find many things about CAN on DK , some posted by me in HELP section.
Guided fault finding = Feature that many factory scan-tools have and real technician despise it.

FlexRay is not common in USA at all. K-line and CANBUS still very much relevant. CANBUS for sure.

New 2017 Hyundai / Kia in USA security access is K-Line....

OK so refer the thread as vehicle bus discussion does not have to be specific to CAN.

I want to become more heavily involved in vehicle bus work. I was playing with some software and I was able to lock / unlock a Dodge Caravan and make the turn signal lamps flash using CAN. I wrote script to lock car + flash lights at same time. It was very interesting to me and I think this work is part of my future.

My first project is to learn how to sniff dealer tools so we can some commands required to for example program a key

Nice, keep going. Figure out what someone might need and make it happen.
