have herd rumours that there will be a new IX 1.61 update for this wave 4. but as far as i can work otu this is only for benq, samsung, lite-on?? no mention of hitachi? does this mean that the hitachis will be 2 FW updates behind hense two set behine for the MS police

Well as for hitachi 1.61 i not heard what drives are getting the upgrade, i presume all but hitachis usually take longer due to the number of differant drives.

As for the game being wave 4, you will have to wait to find out, why not try the activate.iso for 1 shot boot if the game passes abgx

Hitachi doesn't need updating as yet cos it's the only firmware that actually works on wave 4.

    Benq 1.51 does not boot wave 4 ( tested on 4 )
    Sammy 1.51 does not boot wave 4 ( tested on 2 )
    Lite-on 1.51 does not boot wave 4 ( tested on 1 )

    Hitachi 1.51 does boot wave 4 ( tested on 1 )

All units boot wave 4 with 1.6 firmware and activate.iso ( tested on all apart from hitachi as you can't put 1.6 on hitachi )

I got Firmware 1.4 and a samsung drive, had my xbox over 2 yrs and all wave games have always worked then with wave 4 games all i needed to do to play wave 4 games was to update the latest update through borrowing my m8's hard-drive. and as soon as hard-drive did the system update and i put my hard-drive back on, my xbox loaded the wave 4 games perfectly. I knew it wasan't my firmware as the wave 4 games would load ok without the hard-drive attached, but who could play games without saving them . I don't need to worry about live as with this xbox i don't play on line.

Apparently a previous system update installed a file deep within the achievement section to record all games that had been played that had indeed been patched and played before there release dates, therefore the latest update oct 09 as reported this back to xbox, therefore the bans that are happening. I myself don't use live and won't with my flashed xbox, so when i needed to play new wave 4 games, it would not let me play them as it kept saying i needed to do the latest update, but because the game was patched, the wave 4 update would not install,(something new they have added). So i had to borrow my m8's hard-drive, which was tottaly up to date and as soon as i attached it to my xbox the update performed and after putting my hard-drive back on, all my patched wave 4 games work perfectly. oh yeah and my xbox as firmware 1.4 and indeed it is a samsung drive.
