Hi everybody.

I have been looking on this forum for a long time and also searched almost every other forum, but it seems that its very hard to find answers about this older tech. I hope there will be people here that know all the details?

I really like the Vw TDI engine family from the 1990s. We started running one in my friends Rabbit (1st gen Golf in most markets) and have since put one in a speedboat, my 1960s car (even with cruise control working!), and a couple of sand racing bugs. Those engines are great because they are very tunable and totally indestructible. We started out by using PD engines but they are fragile, and then reverted to the older TDi engines and have had no problems since. Especially the AFN engine. Unfortunately working with the electronics is just a pain in the ass. Nothing seems to ever work. I am used to newer engine families when you can do anything with mpps or similar, so these older engines are difficult for me.

Right now we are building a 1st gen Santana with the motor/cluster/subsystems from a TDi audi (afn engine) and it seems that this is a good opportunity to ask all the questions i have about working with them.

Are there people here who are familiar with these old (edc15?) systems? If there are, i have many questions to ask!
