The mechanical code is printed on the airbag switch lock.

Use a wedge and some wires to open it, its just a Fiat, nothing serious

No. Theres somewhere (at the right door) a right front airbag switch off lock, what you can pick easily. If you unmount this lock, you will find the keycode on it.

It looks like this: ABDBACDB it is a SIP22 profile

the code is also likely be stamped as manufacturer code in following format : DE1526 instacode can then convert this to direct cuts , so also look for a code behining DE followed by 4 numbers .

lishi 2in1 makes short work of these .

if all else fails the code can be purchased from dealer or a code broker to vin number

The lock switch for turning the passenger airbag on/off has the code printed on it. Pull it out it’s only clipped in then remove the wire clip that holds the lock in the plastic housing. The code is missing the prefix just add DE to the beginning and you have the code.

I have the same problem... I am looking for cutting code from vin or other to put in instacode, but my vehicle is a fiat 500 and havent the lock switch for passenger airbag. To turn on/off passenger airbag I used dashboard functions on this model.
    thanks

    thanks

You have three options either pick and decode the lock, remove the door lock and you will find the code is on the plug of the door lock or order the code card from Fiat.

there is a 4th option , call an auto locksmith with the correct tool to pick and decode the lock for you.

lishi 2in1 will quickly pick and decode the correct key cuts for the lock .

Not strange at all , the shop you went to is only a key cutter with manual tracing machines and not cut to code machines, so they need a key to cut from , only those that cover all keys lost will have cut to code machines normally, due to their cost . a local auto locksmith with cut to code machines should be able to help .
