    Hi,

Is it possible to program CGDI keyless go key to W204 2012? All keys are lost so I can't check for original key ROM version.

Thanks. I checked key part number by VIN and database did show the OEM key is with 2 batteries, that will not be a problem? From what I heard, we can add keyless keys only when original key is with 1 battery, si it true? Car is from US market.

That is nothing about 2batteries or 1battery version,
and W204 2012 already face-lifted that use 1battery fob key.
Even pre-FL original key is 2batteries still can program new 1battery fob key.
    ignore those stupid rumors.

For MB fob key (not original fob), it is hard to find 2batteries version,
and they are old version, not recommend use it on W204.
just for some old models such as W203 w209 etc. which 2005 or before that has problem with new keys, then will try the old type.

About the keyless MB key (not mercedes original fob),
there are 3 generations as I remember.
buy the latest one that work perfect on W204,212 etc. without any problems.

Thank you, I just ordered CGDI Keyless fob newest version for W204/W212 so hope is gonna be okay. Im a little bit sceptic about their reliability though as heard they just like to fail, stop to work after some time... But we will see, thank you.

I have had bad experiences with both XH and CGDI keyless keys for W204 and W212. But others seem to be doing them with no issues so maybe I just got some bad keys?

Well, I heard more bad stories than good stories. Im skeptic about those keyless keys but will have a customer with w204 without any keys who want 2 keyless keys. What I want to do, is program 1 standard key and 1 keyless key and if keyless key will be okay after some time, I can replace and give him second keyless but honestly I would prefer him to stay with 1 standard key because they are 100% reliable. Worst thing mught happen when his only keys were aftermarket keyless and suddenly both stop working. It costs a lot for customer to Pay me for this kind of job and imagine them stopy working both after 2 months. I explained it to him but he still want 2 keyless keys so I will try to persuade him to have 1 normal. I will give him even better price, I just want to sleep well

I have been using vvdi and cgdi keyless mb key for w204 w212 many times without any problems so far.
make sure you've order the latest version,
because there are many generation, the old gen has sync problems.

    Hi,

I'm doing tests on my own car, it's W204 2010 and Im trying to collect data without working key but fail. I followed instructions, connected yellow wire to k-line 3 pin, insert simulator key but collection was not succesfull. I was sitting in car for like 30 minutes, it said collecting but no any bar visible how far process is going. So I quit the car and came back next 30 minutes and seen collection failed. Anyone else trie that recently? Maybe it's some software bug because some member tested it in the past and told me it's working.

I haven't tried that in car,
but have done that on bench.
Without the AC adapter, data collection takes an hour,
    no need to connect Kline.
The process is straight follow without any problems, just follow the steps.
Looks like there was something wrong in your process.

I have never used CGDI in a car unless it's for spare key. I always bench the EZS as I find it more reliable than working in the car with pretty much all tools.

let me also play it in car see what happen.

Btw I have done several times wipe and re-program EIS in car,
collect data with working key in car, all ok.

Everything is okay, im just sitting in the car and collecting data. Will take abo an hour.

Actually I know what was the problem before... So yesterday I left laptop and came back after 30 mins but the screen was black, laptop went into Energy saving mode. Well I least thats what I thought because I got home screen and needed to log in but I thought the tool was working in the background at this state. But today checked laptop Energy saving ssettings and it was actually set it goes to sleep mode after 30 min so thats why procedure interrupted. And now I know I could actually continue, because the tool asked if I want to continue so I click Yes but it prompt to re-insert simulator key if its inserted and I didnt do it, I was doing this without a focus on the outside when it was dark. I even thought the %% progress doesnt increqse because some stupid window popped out in the corner which I didnt close and I thought the process actually didnt started and something is wrong

Human errors and brainwash at it best.

I tested today other EIS on bench, laptop went into sleep after 30mins, same message failed to collect, asked if want to continue, clicked Yes, reinserted simulator key and it continued to finish so its all good.

So now collection is being done, laptop settings are changed that it will never go to sleep mode.

So in about 55 minutes collection went to 94% and CGDI application crashed Im doing it from beginning, lets see

EDIT: 2nd try succesfull, exactly 1h 9min. Nice.

PS. Wonder why with other tools like Autel, avdi, need connect to some fuse under the hood if with cgdi only ELV k-line is enough
