1 battery are those who mimic the BGA keys - without battery holder.

For the most of the keys(except VVDI one) I read this: If Benz key board is broken during key writing, you need to buy another new NEC Chip and it can be written for once only.
So, which keys are re-writable?

This is BE key, can renew anytime.

When the other EIS have same Partnumber you can swap MCU 1&2
The Original Keys from damage EIS will work on the donor EIS

When you dont have Key's read MCU 1 (Xprog, Orange5,...) and generate Key Dump and write your Key's ;-)

Just to update, I transferred the 2 MCUs from old to new donor EIS, now the car switches on with both keys, dash come on but no crank. The ESL doesn’t click either way and the lock is stuck in unlock position.

Could this be the ESL that’s now having a problem. I also noticed the EIS quickly gets very hot once connected with or without key but once the ESL plug is removed, the EIS doesn’t heat up.

Please advise.

I've asked the same question about 7G and engines ECU renewing many times but nobody answered me.

the situations are 2:

1. it just does not work and nobody wants to accept it
2. Nobody tried it yet(a little impossible...)

CGDI MB 2.5.0.0 Update (2018-03-13):
1. Add ELV repair function, including: enable ELV, virgin ELV (repair damage ELV chip)
2. Add the function of BE key to save file directly
3. Add W205, W218,W166 FBS4 EIS type detection
4. Add save EIS data format flags.
5. Fixed the problem of part of the ECU,TCU,ISM/DSM/ESM cannot erase

It's been a long time since the last software version uploaded.
Are they going to build a newer vesion? What do you think?

I’m having issues reading ELS for W204, EIS reads fine as well as the key but ELS doesn’t respond at all. Tried both on obd and bench, yellow K-line was connected. What could be happening, anyone had same problem and possible solutions.
