Made a key for a 2001 w203 akl with be key. Have to put key in twice to start car. First time elv unlocks, second time eis unlocks and car starts... anyone seen this?

Maybe your key was not activated first time when you put in ezs, and was activated only second time...or maybe due to be key...

This is BE key problem. Better program original NEC and sleep well, forget about something happen. Most problems are on W203 with BE keys. Or contact daxxer, he say he's got fixed keys BE keys which work 100% with HC08 based EIS

Yesterday Done W211 2005 add 2 BE key's with Original Key, all without problem by OBD ;-)

Anyone confirm steps required to clone EIS please ?

1-Read original EIS, get key password and save data.
2-Read other EIS, get erase password, erase this EIS.
3-Load data saved from Step 1 and write to other EIS.

I´m no locksmith specialist, but to clone it... you´ll have to open it and clone MCU(´s)...
by xprog/vvdi prog/orange5 and others...

with Cgdi Mercedes device/software you´ll not handle it...

Thanks mate, thought it might have been possible by reading and copying data across to other EIS using cgdi.
I have VVDI prog and r270 so can read MCU using them.

Ok so w204 has NEC which can't be read using programmer, so I think the way I originally said it's the way to go.

steps incomplates, for mb must personalize data for new EIS with das, CGDI no use it, and must use a same part number ...
