Electric cars are worst polluters than Petrol cars

Here we come guys! road tax and environmental tax for your cheap green electric vehicles!!

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...ol-diesel.html

Much better to run your now very old diesel car on horse shit, rapeseed, sugar cane, chocolate, potatoes etc come to that you could evenin your tank
Electric cars are NOT as green as you think (and some are worse polluters than petrol!) GUY WALTERS provides a reality check about the vehicles

    • Tesla S P100D saloon produces more CO2 than petrol-driven Mitsubishi Mirage
    • Government wants new vehicles to be electric or ultra-low emission by 2040
    • Half of electricity comes from power stations that burn fossil fuels such as coal
    • Nickel in batteries eighth worst metal to mine and process in terms of pollution.

Almost half (48.1 %) of the net electricity generated in the EU-28 in 2015 came from combustible fuels (such as natural gas, coal and oil), while more than one quarter (26.4 %) came from nuclear power stations. Among the renewable energy sources shown in Figure 3, the highest share of net electricity generation in 2015 was from hydropower plants (11.9 %), followed by wind turbines (9.7 %) and solar power (3.5 %).
This is the source, for further info.

    As for the other issues,
Battery pack construction/weight/cost and environmental issues...
Fast charging is already a problem for the grid...

Still, these are just facts, reality is that electric cars pollute in another country(where the coal powerplant is located) and sooner or later we will be taxed for the fats that we shall pass...
A failure will not appear till a unit has passed final inspection

They'll just up the price of electricity for everyone. Those that can't afford it won't buy it, freeze to death and no longer need it, problem solved. Price will soon reach Tessies promised price to the Chinese and French for £92 per MW, that's double the current price.

Gaston probably has a magnet on the link so he can claim the £92 per MW as his meter will be running backwards
How about digging a tunnel to nearest station from MH garden for a back passage feed in the MW range

              Man your screwed in Norway

              https://www.ft.com/content/fe6b79d4-...9-abaa44b1e130

Norway is proposing a “Tesla tax” that would hit owners of the heaviest electric cars in a move that critics say will undermine the Scandinavian country’s standing as a pioneer of zero-emission vehicles. Sales of electric cars and hybrids accounted for 60 per cent of new vehicle sales in Norway last month, fuelled by extensive subsidies in taxes, tolls and parking fees. But the centre-right minority government in Oslo is now proposing a one-off tax on all electric cars that weigh more than two tonnes — something that at present would predominantly target Teslas and potentially add up to NKr82,800 ($10,500) to the cost of buying one.

Just spoke to Tom Denton from @attauto
he was saying don't believe it, oil companies propagander, not EXCACT word he used.

But like I pointed out, this is digital kaos, if you read it on here, must be true.
this is because admin do such a great job here on the worlds best website.

Yes, this electric car thingy in norway is screwed up, and the politicians is the fault. They start off with removing all taxes, free parking, free ferry (and almost everyone outside the big citys need ferrys to get to places), and no Congestion Charge, free charging stations everywhere. This leads to people buying them only for all the advantages, and people with Diesel cars especially have to pay more, but gasoline cars aswell. Others have to pay more on the ferry, so that they dont loose money on all the electric cars etc etc.

And ofcourse, norway create ''Clean electricity'' from water, but they outsource this and sell it ''expensive'' and buys cheap electricity from power plants. logic? i think not.

And eventhough the oil prices are down, the diesel and gasoline prices is always rising. it is not uncommon to see prices like 16.50 kr nok (2.0 USD) pr litre for gasoline.

I think it is really stupid, and even if all the country became ''zero emission'' over night, it would not even be 0,001 % difference in the world's emission.

                      As if by magic......................... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/...s-surges-50bn/

Under an agreement between the Government and EDF Energy, ironed out in 2013, Hinkley is guaranteed to earn £92.50 for every megawatt-hour (MWh) of energy produced through a combination of wholesale market prices and a levy on consumer energy bills. <<--- This means the public gets screwed again
At the time Government said this would require top-up payments totaling £6bn via energy bills to meet the "strike price", but falling market prices have widened the forecast gap every year since then.
                      and https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/...inkley-point-c

The government has agreed a minimum price of £92.50 per megawatt hour (MWh) for electricity produced by Hinkley Point, the first new-build nuclear power plant in the UK since 1995. Under this agreement, if the usual wholesale price is lower, the consumer pays the difference in price. The current wholesale electricity price is around £42 per MWh, so the electricity consumer would pay EDF an extra £50 per MWh.
But the voting public agreed to this when they voted Tessie back in anyway, so they have no problem with energy prices doubling obviously.

So the internalcombustion engine is to be phased out. Almost 100% of the worldstrade in goods are moved around the world by ships, trains, lorriesand vans, all powered by diesel engines. There is no viablealternative to the internal combustion engine in terms of cost, powerand weight as there is no mechanical device currently available toreplace this wonderful piece of mechanical technology.
The answer has to benew fuels and more research on the treatment of exhaust gasparticulates and Co2 emissions. Already, some of thenewer large diesel engines being introduced for ships and powergeneration are fueled by LNG (natural gas) giving a huge reduction inharmful emissions. More research on the production and use ofhydrogen as the main fuel is also needed. As research anddevelopment advances, the internal combustion engines will not begoing away and they will still be around for the foreseeable future. Electrically powered ships, aircraft and large trucks are not arealistic possibility with today’s technology. Electric trainsare mostly used for passenger travel and freight is moved mainly withdiesel locos. How is the huge amount of pollution free electricityto be generated for all these new electric vehicles without nuclearpower. Imagine 27million electric cars being plugged in at 5pm on awinters day when the lights, cookers and heating are all beingswitched on. The manufacturing of batteries for installation in anyreplacement electric vehicles will create more pollution andemissions in both in production and disposal once they are spent. The UK government has just canceled rail electrification in Wales andthe North in favor of dual powered trains fitted with diesel engines. What message is this for the future and where do we go from here?

No problem just put your gymkhana horse to the yoke, re invent the tea clipper, dig canals through MP's gardens, go to your local pub for your entertainment and burn horse manure etc in your fireplace. last but not least pedal your bike for 30 mintues for 3 minutes internet ......Ahh the "Good Old Days"

We could say the politicians are only good at calculating their expenses, apparently they even get them wrong

                            Here you go

A group of MPs has said that the £18bn cost of the UK's new Hinkley Point C nuclear power station will hit the country's poorest the hardest.
The Public Accounts Committee said that households had been "locked into an expensive deal lasting 35 years".
In a report, it said there were no plans for Hinkley Point to provide wider benefits such as jobs and skills.
But EDF, the French firm funding two thirds of the project, said it would bring "huge benefits" to Britain.
The government gave the green light to Hinkley Point near Bridgwater in Somerset last year, in a deal which guarantees EDF a fixed price of £92.50 per megawatt hour for the electricity it produces for 35 years.
If it falls below that level, consumers will pay the difference.
The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy estimates that top-up payments will cost consumers around £30bn.
In its report examining the deal, the Public Accounts Committee said: "Over the life of the contract, consumers are left footing the bill and the poorest consumers will be hit hardest. Yet in all the negotiations no part of government was really championing the consumer interest."
The committee's chair Meg Hillier said: "Bill-payers have been dealt a bad hand by the government in its approach to this project.
"Its blinkered determination to agree the Hinkley deal, regardless of changing circumstances, means that for years to come energy consumers will face costs running to many times the original estimate.
"It doesn't know what UK workers and business will gain from this project, and appears to have no coherent idea of what to do about it."

A report claims that the cost of the nuclear power station will weigh on poorer households.
