    Default 2J74Y Monitor ROM

    Hi Guys.
I've read in Motorola 2J74Y datasheet that this mcu doesnt "use" monitor rom but when I see dumps read by ETL there is monitor rom present. Could someone here with ETL experience tell me: to do full copy of 2j74y monitor rom is necessary ? I have comfort module with 2J74Y foulty and did copy with X-prog ori and it doesnt work. When I heat original mcu all works fine. Rgs.

As far as i remember you can read all 3 memories (flash, eeprom, rom), but you write only the flash and eeprom.
Do you have a good source for the 2j74y ? I found some of them had defect with the eeprom.

You don't need to copy/clone monitor ROM. It is not used by the MCU in normal operating mode as in dash, ezs or whatever
