If all this does is bypass the video partition that causes it not to boot on 1.6.

Is it safe to say that pathcing the games is just as good as using the new firmware?

Think i'll wait till 1.7 before flashing anymore boxes.

    Thank ~~~~ for this!

What a pain in the arse it was having to pop in my boot disc to play Fairytale Fighing, it consumed a whole 20 seconds of my life.

I've just flashed a BenQ spoofed as a MS25, works great, no more Boot disc

I'm about to flash my BenQ drive with this from 1.51 and just wondering if I should wait for 1.7. I've had no problems up until now with 1.51 so I am not that worried about this one but I've read around that the boot up disk method with 1.6 isn't completely safe for XBL use and if this just does the same thing but internally, is it just as risky? Mind you I've read that from TPB comments and other unreliable sources.

Who is starting this 1.7 Crap. Are we making up firmwares now.

The wave only happens when big dash updates are put on disc, i think they should be done with the big dash updates for awhile.

Flash 1.61 and worry about the next wave when or if it comes.

It Dosnt bypass the video check, its added strict Wave 4 compliance, so if you have a iso with corrupt data it wont boot, if it bypassed it would and you could be up for a ban.

Ok few points here. No it dies not disable
the checks of the video partition. IT WILL NOT ALLOW HYBRIDS TO BOOT. IE A WAVE 4 GAME PATCHED TO WAVE 3 or a WAVE ? PATCHED TO WAVE 2.

Suppose if you dont/banned from usiing xbox live then, patch away, but dont expect your games to load in every xbox 360 thats flashed with ix 1.6/1.61.
1.7? doubt will be before xmas, maybe i could be wrong, but with changes being made/updates being added to discs all time, expect another wave quite soon.

I am hoping for a firmware that disables the checks on video partitions, if so use abgx to be safe. But again these checks are built into the firmware to protect you on xbox live.

this is the nfo from team hypers firmware release :

Team HyperX Presents IXtreme 1.61 firmware for Benq and Samsung drives
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

IXtreme fw for Benq and Samsung drives!

    Features
    --------
-Strict Wave 4 compliance! hybrid (modified disks) will not boot!

-Strict Wave 3 compliance! hybrid (modified disks) will not boot!

-Strict drive speed compliance - 12x only for game discs!

    -Support for SS V2!

-Integrated 0800 for game dumping including SS v2!

-Full support for all known game exceptions! eg ddr etc!

-One shot boot mode! - allows a one off boot of gamedisc without -stealth/partition checks (will still use stealth), use activate.iso disk to activate each time!

-Support for easy drive key/version info cmd, same as liteon!

-Strict stealth/wave checking, one shot boot mode will boot wave(x)!

    More Info
    ---------

Strict Wave 4 compliance means wave 4 games will only boot if they have correct PFI/DMI/SS and timestamp for wave 4

Strict drive speed compliance means games will only boot if drive is set for the initial speed of 12x, any modification of this make games fail to boot

SS v2 suports multiple timing samples for challenges type 5 and 7 , stroing them in the SS. This is a pre-requiste for SS v3 which has support for the so called AP2.5 check. Since this has never been used or may never be used by MS we will adopt a wait and see approach and continue to monitor for its usage.

With drive in Windows mode (Tray half open on powerup) 0800 mode is activated allowing easy dumping of game disc including SS v2. In this mode the drive is also able to output drive key, fw version and drive type by using a simple custom inquiry command.

Game exceptions are integrated in the fw for games that do not comply with the strict wave checks but are legitimate. These are Dance Dance Revolution Universe, Stoked, Ping 17 disk, afro samurai

One shot boot mode allows you to boot a Wave X or non stealth game by using the activate.iso disk as a flag. Just insert the activate disc and the next disc inserted will boot without any strict checks. This will still utilise full stealth if available. As soon as that disc is booted the flag is cleared, and you will have to re-insert the activate disk again to enable one shot boot. As always use with caution.

    Note for unofficial releases:

It is highly recommended that you do not flash unverified or unofficial releases. We often do not implement specific
security features in beta firmwares that are neccessary precaution's to help keep everyone as safe as possible on Xbox Live.

    Default wave4

Hi guys, I am hoping someone can help me as i am so confused, I Currently have a flashed xbox 360, with a samsung drive, not sure what firmware, It's been two years now and every backup game as always worked, I've always updated the dashboard updates through new games, right up to the game prototype and i have never played online. The thing that i am wondering is Firstly, if i update the latest dashboard update (wave 4) as it seems people have to do the update, will all my Old backups still work? And secondly once i have updated to the latest update, do you think i would be able to use the activate boot disk if, games such as modern warfare 2 don't load? Or would i need to have it re flashed? It's just that No-body on any forums seems to be saying they have done the latest update and still can play there old backups.

Thankyou, your help is much appreciated.
