With AVDI you will be able to finish job with 6HP gearbox without problems.

At the moment am using Vvdi2 + ACDP for BMW keys but for X5 cas models I know not possible to do AKL as I think you need to sync EGS.

I have a customer at the moment has a 2008 X5 diesel with 6hp gearbox he bought as a none runner, he fitted a second-hand ECU, CAS + key, car starts but of course will not come out of park! As needs EGS synchronization. Will AVDI complete the job?

I was looking at autohex but with the AVDI promotion I can add the BMW lite package at a good price.
What do you think, pay the extra for autohex or go with avdi?
    Thank you

No I'm not happy last year paid £1000 update to be able to do F series keys.
Tried on a 1 series and then couple of 3 series - all not recognised.
Haven't touched F series since i lost faith.

CAS 3+ spare keys better done by removing module, eeprom and using VVDI. But AVDI downgrading does work well - used on mini.
And software does work well on that

Autohex is on my list - just can't decide if 'lite' or full version ....to get payback.
And my view is it will actually work F series and if something goes wrong can actually fix.
Also lost keys is greatly on mind

    Thanks for feed back pepi!

A thing that puts me off AVDI BMW is unlike the other brands I have on avdi I think with BMWy ou are more likely to need help at some point which without paying their help fee, I don't find many places to get help apart from here of course! With Autohex I believe there is more help/support.
    Any other opinions? please

not quite as easy as that , full vn002 is also needed and elements of vnoo3 , ep001 , zno51 distribution box and their abrites tokens , the vn008 and 009 licences are for spare keys where you have a working key so seperate licence , everyone is different dependent on what functions they own already , send your supplier the screen shots of your vag licences owned in licence viewer and they will advise on what you need to add , the more you own the less it costs as you need less elements

i have not made AKL on E70 / E71 EGS models yet but i have read that if the ECU as short 4 byte isn then it is not possible unless you have professional BMW tools like AVDI, Autohex, Explorer!

hope someone here with bmw experience can fill us in more on the procedure ?

Sorry if you picked me up wrong, that was a question, NOT a statement!

Am not sure of the procedure, that's why i asked, i was trying to figure out if cheaper tools like VVDI2 or ACDP can do all key lost on this model, as i read not possible, but i guess that question belongs in different thread. thanks anyways

    No worries,
Really think gearbox is least of your worries as so many ECU types.

If your in doubt, get Autohex Lite package as not bad value
