If remote wont work with 8 pin then just start precoding again and chose 10/16-pin. Just take some minutes extra. Happen to me all the time with Fiat Ducato when I have mixed suppliers in stock.

I tried that too, it didn't work. i have a feeling that the bcm might have been blocked,due to the alarm going off for few minutes,and customer left the car battery disconnected over nite, even with original remote and disable the alarm, it was still locked.

The reason that i mention this now is i had to do a Fiat 500 spare remote the other day, after reading pin+precoding the same message that i got on the Alfa appeared, something like no coms, make sure the ignition is on, or the bcm is locked. after baterry disconnection, i managed to program the remote key.

Anyone used abrites key programmer. Used obd programmer now 4,5 hour for spare key cx90 from 2016. Light stil blinking slowly.

That is normal, it could take much longer. I use to leave it for the night and then it is ready on the morning. Dongle or software has same waiting time.

Yes battery support used.

It took over 5 hours. Everything went wel.

if you didnt save the software anywhere , then from your supplier or from abrites direct , i always download amd save latest software to a memory stick

If your AMS expired ...they will never send the software to you...
