Default BMW 318d E91 - Low power after remap

    Hi there guys

A friend came to my shop yesterday and wanted to dyno his car, he felt it was low on power after remaping.
It is a BMW 318d 122hp E91, the company that remapped it claimed 185hp.

It felt very lazy on the dyno and pushed out only 147hp

Anybody want to take a look at the file and see if its the tune or the car that is the problem?

    Thanks

No possible to 185hp on stock car.. No way

Max power on M47 is 155 or 160hp on this engine. 147hp is good power.

At first - I agree with Sedat. 122 have small nozzles and also turbo is not capable of doing high boost. 160/350 is rather max output

    BUT

I've took a look on Your remap and it's horrible. Some examples :

TQ limiter 40% from 1000 rpm
EGT map totally closed - NO OVERHEATING PROTECTION IN YOUR CAR
Percentage job in Nm to IQ map
Tq limit for reverse gear increased up to 400 Nm <>
    Duration 8-12,5% percentage job
    Turbo also too much
    Turbo limiter - horrible

Better buy safe file, it could only destroy the car.

    Ouch, it was that bad.
The strange this is that this file is coming from one of Norways biggest and most well known tuning companies. And it wasn't cheap.

He is taking the dyno printout back to them to show that he didnt get the 185hp they promised him.
I have advised him to ask for his ECU to be flashed back to stock again, dont know if they will refund his money or not.

For this work should be full refound, especially if it wasn't cheap. Let's say it's a job of person which is increasing everything connections with fuel. Could do screens if You want

He sent me a message that he was taking his car back to the workshop today.
They wanted to have another look at it, claiming that they had dynoed a identical car to 165 hub hp with that tune on dynapack.
I will know tomorrow if they are refunding him or not.

    Thanks

No matter if it done 165ps. With such file it is just dangerous. EGT map is closed, even if You have 900 C egt car does not limit torque. It's called joke remap...
