VW great no question no matter is early 2000 or 2016 MQB
Toyota/Lexus great even with akl and the emulator pretty decent too
now the support ticket system is totally useless but around september it was very quick 1-2 days and you get a test file

They didn't have any mention of it in the manual for the IM608 but if you search a little bit you can find the XP400 manual and it has some details on the software and key renewal ect. I used the programmer to get a bin from a really small eeprom on a honda radio.
I tried to boot carprog with the XP400 attached and it didn't register (not that im suprised)
I think it would be incredible if they could get it to interact with other software interfaces buttt most of those programs seem very paired towards the hardware the engineering company produces

I spoke to a Autel "consultant" whom was charging an extra $500 over msrp for specialty support.
Unfortunately I don't think the company has fully devoted to the user base
but the guys I talk to on the phone and email where pretty good in supporting me, getting j2534 software setup

Honestly I bought the tool because I am very entry level
I work at a used car dealership and more and more ive seen issues with computers that need replaced or have been replaced and need programming then ever in 10 years
chysler pin codes was very needed
I was working on a 2008 jeep liberty
we bought the car with a no start "needs engine condition"
    $2500
    replaced the ecu for $50
read pin, change vin, renew key, program immo
tune the engine new plugs fresh oil some gaskets and a water pump
    sold the car for $10,000
the tool already paid for itself

    buy 2012 bmw e92 "needs engine" $1000
past tech replaced ecu, locksmith programmed key
crank no start, got on these forums, was helped by some incredible people
change cas isn, tune engine and chassis, new tires
    $14,000

I tried to code the dme with the elite and the j2534, they did code but never synced with cas
autel support directed me to use the online bmw service which was pretty cheap and they set up the j2534 interface so it was painless

2008 Hyundai Azera same deal, ecu replaced, locksmith programmed key, crank no start
Pin code and new key with im608

I can go on and on but every tool I have has worth based of the income it brings the company I work for and this one has very high returns
I read around the forums, I probably have 80+ hours just reading threads from the past couple of years
seeing all the posts can made me, the best car programming guy I know in my town, feel very very stupid
the best tool as far as i can tell for doing this kind of stupid professionally, is your brain haha
everything else just makes life easier i guess
I can't afford or justify buying all the different manufacturer specific and specialty tools like bmw explorer
some guys can just look at the hex coding and change or read what it means, im not one of those guys
If anyone can point me in a good direction on learning how to look at hex code and not just be almost completely clueless Id appreciate it
how the world someone can take a cas dump, calculate the isn, change it through encryption all in hex editor is so far beyond me

Did several Benz now and quite happy to be honest
    - 2001 W203 C class - with IR key adapter since no KEO (lock didn't take old spare key, original was lost) - went just fine
    - 2005 W203 C270 - smart option in tool, took a bit to calculate password but steps are more easy then doing it by manual or expert selection, still way under an hour and for benz key still good value
    - W169 A class lock on the bench with a G-Box2 just to test this new tool and had the info read EIS under 1 minute, pass calculation way under 10 (think even under 5!) minutes, also virgin option seems to have worked fine (not personalised and not activated status)

if you have time doesn't matter. If you are in hurry choose the vvdi. The autel calculating time is a mess yet. Anywhere from 5 min to 2 hours

    And another thing.
I don't think you have access to the calculation, if you don't pay for subscription each year.
And that would be about 1100USD on the IM608, each year for updates and be able to calculate.
Please correct me if I am wrong in this case.

But I know there is no limit on calculations each day though.

Don't know on this but I'll ask next time I call in for support. So far everytime I have called in and talk to the IM608 support guys they could show me how to do what I needed to do or a work around ect.
Though I doubt I will let it expire till I move on to the next tool they make for immo or to another system because I use it as a diag tool as well and you get that included in the immo software

Well it would not Calc akl with Gbox2 when I tried. With no active sub. So this was my conclusion.
VVD MB did the job instead quite fast.

For a simple pass calculation? Taking apart a car? No.
Compared to other MB tool the pass calculation is slow. On the bench who cares. I've been tested with my gBox1-2 they are working fine.
