Question ftp dm500s with dcc issue

    hi all,
have the network set up ok according to dcc but password error is not letting me get any further
i have left everything as is login=root password=dreambox my dm ip is good as check it on tv before going up and down the stairs a dozen times.
    confused!
do i need a rj45 crossover cable to ftp my dm500s???
or can i just use an ordinary cable into modem router netopia wg3347,and pc connected to router plus also dm500s?

have you bought this box second hand..??

ideal setup is through the router.. for example i've just ftp'd some files over via dcc from my lappy in the bedroom to my box downstairs..

Try pinging the dreambox or try opening your internet web browser & typing the dm's ip in, to see if it makes a connection.

    As could be firewall prob.
