Some chips read but most don't. I have to unselected the check id then I can read. But I can't erase. It just say erase successfull but chip still fully written.

Update.

AM29c010 chip must be played with untill chip I'd reads correct. When the chip is removed it reads as all sectors unprotected. In my effort to learn this chip I have protected some of the sectors by mistake. tlc866 can not unprotect this flash chip sectors, but it can protect sectors. Once you click the protect some of the sectors button you are basically stuck and can not unprotect the protected sectors thus being stuck. Then writing or erase can not proceed.

By default all these sectors read as unprotected.
So unless you protect sectors you will be ok to erase and write.
So now I'm stuck with 21 protected chips.waiting on new ordered ones-now it's 3 months allready. Patiently.

Also I have have found some of my chips have changed I'd after messing with them to much.
Off to the bin with them.

I use the same programmer for am29... read and write without problem,sometimes plcc32 socket adapter make problem,If you have buy am29f010 from china 3 from 5 working.

I'm not sure for that but what i know chip 29f010 is just one time programmable chip... so only way is read and buy new empty chip and then programmable new chip.


And to let know very important things..... every time after desolder chip from pcd is cleaning chip pins and socket pins using isopropyl alcohol... or inspection pins/ connection between chip/socket under microscope

Hi i have the same programmer and work without problem with am29f010,may be plcc32 socket no contact good with chip for me this is reason for not erasing the chip.

Hello amiko I have the same programmer I had the same problem if you want to fix bought new brands of AMD brand ... Only so I wrote again ... Then this particular programmer you have to specify the type of mar a processor if you take one like it reads it but he does not write it gives you an error ... Ok bye
