In this dump only key nr 4 is bad!!!
That file that I send you is good!
At this point I dont know which old key is working for start and remote function...
If your problem is only your new key where remote is not working...
    Than...
    Is it a 868MHz remote?
Post your dump with Key Nr5 programmed by you and also Hitag image of this Key...
Customer doesn't have any remote key just now, so cannot determine that way if it is a key fault or fault on the car.
As they only have the simple transponder key and not remote, i would hazard a guess it is key ID#1 (PCF 7936), the other keys indicate as remote type with PCF 7942/7944.

Yes, with new key only remote not working, yes it is 868 MHz.
Ok, i can arrange to take dump with new key.

In VVDI2 it starts from 1-4 -- Key number 4 here says PCF7953 and error message pop up.
In Tang it start from 0-3 -- Key number 3 here says PCF7945 and here it opens without error message. Says E60 old type, 868Mhz
The other keys are the same in both tools.
Number 4 in VVDI2 is number 3 in Tang.

Maybe you could try to read it with a different tool. Or use the transponder programmer function in VVDI2. Out of BMW, and start program.
Test with KD if you have. Tested with a CN key. Got frequency 868Mhz FSK need to test several times to get result.
It started as low as 315 then 434 and then up to 868 on China key.
I read eeprom with one tool (only as a backup if the s**t hit the fan & wasn't used to program the key), then used other tool to program new key by OBD independently form the backup.
I tried load the dump (even repaired dump) into transponder programmer function in VVDI2 and again get some error.
Before sending key i checked remote was transmitting, using key tool and CN900. With VVDI2 yes frequency detected seems to change depending on how you hold the key to the tool.

Can these aftermarket keys be unlocked again / renewed or only OEM?

You can only renew OEM keys!
I use only OEM keys, for this reason cant say anything about your key, but take one image from Hitag of your key...

Customer doesn't have any remote key to test, otherwise could more easily know if it's a car problem or key problem.
They only have key like attached photo
