if you mean administrator password then the following link will tell you how enable it and to disable it but you will need to do it in safe mode

HI
ITS THE password authentication system
If you are talking about the 'Power on Password' i.e the BIOS password then you won't get round that without assistance from Dell.
i found the following on a forum referring to a dell could try it.
Go to the bios, find passwords and select None.
Remove any cd's in your cdrom drives first.
I agree, only Dell can fix!
in that case remove the hdd and connect it to another laptop that supports dual hdd (eg Hp pavillion DV9000).
search this on google: ' remove hdd password ' , go to the first website and download the utility to remove the hdd pass.
you can also use a rack to connect the hdd to another computer.
hello everyone! im about to atempt to install Mac OSX on my d630 and i need to tweak some settings in the bios. unfortunately its locked and cant get in. i have seen that the codes many people have been provideing are working great. Could you guys help me out?

Hello
Get the hirens CD in which you will find a tool enabling you to erase the old pass word and to type your new one in case the safe mode has also an anknown pass word
If your talking about the Bios password there are normally two on a Dell laptop.
1st.
is a password on the hard drive which locks the drive & there aint no way around that as far as i know & your better off putting it in the bin & getting another hard drive. as i searched to the ends of google and a shit load of websites myself as i had the same problem.
2nd.
is the Bios password.. this is a tricky one but can be done.. its not a easy task but shear determination & alot of patience got me through doing my XPS. you will need a tool to do this as you cannot do this, as it cant be done with any software. PM me and ill explain what you need to do on this one.
