    How old is the car?
If it is under 2 years, then Audi will put new software on it for free, if you tell them there is a error with the car, lets say, motor running wrong at idle, and you heard that a Software update will do the trick.
The newest ECU dvd from audi/vw is version 51 or 52, if you want to use a non SVM/Audi Flash update, using a not registered VAS tester.

But if the car has this error, it might break the ECU if you put new software on it using the original VAG/Vas tester, because i need to make a complete checksum control before and after update, and if the software allready have been tampered with, it will be seen, because of Audi and VWs SVM system(Software Version Management), where the VAS tester has a connection with the VAG server, to see what software there was on the car, when it was delivered, and if there have been any software updates, from a certified Audi partner.
It the current ECU software and the data from the VAG server is not the same, then they might charge you, and they problery wont do the update with any kind of warranty.

I can say this for sure, because i work at VW, Audi and Skoda.

    Best Regards

I had same problem with Golf Plus 1.6 FSI MED 9.5.1
I had done with update software with original VAS succesfully, but Internal Control Module: Memory Check Sum Error still remain after update ecu, so I'm afraid that this will not help this case neither.
I'm over of many trying to repair eeprom dump to solve that problem, but till now no success.
    Greetings

Isnt this fault coming from old version software? was an original VW error.

Then some tuner made 1 tuned file with this sw version...and dumped so many VW s with...that the problem still exist today.

I have this problem solved by ori VW update online(payd for it) and modified the new sw from vw...no more checksum error on this...

no,that mean desolder chip, programme in programmer and solder chip in ecu
you can't make error cks,and you don't have to power ecu to do it

I wasn't aware that was a option. Would my willem be able to do this?

if we are talking about the flash no, you will need something more recent, a wellon 980 or something like that...if you want to try to adapt the eeprom dump you can use willem...
bdm will do the job for this kind of ecu with no problem, and it has also cks included...so no need to desolder!
you may try also to let bdm do the cks, maybe it will work.
anyway, rsibiza was wright, this is the effect of using old sw tuned file...an sw update will solve the problem, but that means you will loose the tuned file...
