Angry Help wit MPPS READ error on a 2009 Grande Punto 1.9JTD

    Hello
i have just bought a MPPS v16 clone and i am trying first to read the original map from the ECU of my FIAT GRANDE PUNTO 1.9 130bhp
i managed to install the software to a XP laptop. great until now
Enter the MPPS software, select the car model and the engine.
First i hit the ECU ID button, it reads the ID ok.
Then i hit READ and it starts reading until 20-80% (did several tries) and then it stops and i get an error.
I attached the pictures of all 3 stages (1-ECU ID, 2-Reading in progress, 3-error)

any help or ideas would be appreciated

Are you using it with Windows XP? If not then you could try using XP and seeing if it makes any difference.

I also bought MPPS v16 from china and it wouldn't work for me with Mk5 Golf. It would ID the ECU but could not read the flash (failed at 0%). In the end I bought MPPS v13 which worked fine. Your issue is probably due to poor hardware from china like mine.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks for the reply.
    I was using windows Xp.
Mine starts to read but never gets to 100%.
Sometimes it stops at 20%, sometimes at 85%. But never gets to 100%

Make sure the MPPS cable is pushed into the OBD port properly. Does your car have any issues that might intefere with MPPS from communicating such as wiring issues, aftermarket radio etc? If you have an aftermarket radio try to disconnect it and then try to read ECU.

EDIT: Also try taking out fuses for the cluster. Look in your manual for that.

If after all that you still have issues then it's likely to be an issue with the MPPS cable than anything else IMO.

It is crap hardware and you can't do anything about that. Even if it reads don't try to write ecu with that piece of sh*t.
At least buy kess or galleto from china....

    yes of course!
i wanted to post it, but i didn't know if it's not against forum rules.
software was tested unde windows 7 64 bit. mpps tool must be connected to the pc, before running the software
No loader needed! just unpack the archive under C:\MPPS, and run the exe.

How did you install the windows drivers? Did you just run "64 Bit Driver Installer.exe" or just point windows to the drivers folder?

When the driver install pops out Just hit browse and point to c:\MPPS\drivers.
    Did not run any exe.
