Do have to be online to do this ?

I have read several different tutorials and they seem to require you to be online but my Wii just won't connect to my Wireless network.

Hi guys, this is my first post on these boards and as you will shortly tell I am a complete noob!

I am wanting to softmod my 4.2E wii console in order to play my backups. I have read through the posts but still I am pretty cautious of doing something wrong. If i refer back to the first post do I simply just download the .zip file extract to a SD card and install all the files without having to do anything else? And afterwards will my console be able to run backup games? Also, one more silly question, but how do i install these files - do they get copied to the system or is it pretty much an automated process?

Thanks in advance for any replies, hope to get this done soon
