    1. No kit "does it all"
    2. you will always need "other" leads
    3. Re-mapping kits don't come with "instructions"
    4. You need a lot of experience and knowledge
    5. You can't just buy a kit and say "hey, I'm a remapper"
    6. You will need someone who is experienced in this field willing to help you
    7. You will need someone experienced in this field to help you when things go TITS UP!!!
    8. You will need lots of financial backing for when it does go TITS UP...And it will
    9. OH!....Your still interested? Thought I lost you somewhere between 6 and 8

Sorry for sounding so negative, it's just this is a very skilled and specialised area, and as you said if he's already struggling with electronics it would be wise to pay someone who does know what they are doing and add a little (or big) chunk on for himself...... money for doing nothing, damn I wish I had that kinda job

P.S. I have been doing diagnostics for a loooooooooooooong time over 20 years, I have countless diagnostic equipment ect costing hundreds of thousands of pounds, I consider myself very good at my job, and will tackle almost anything (assuming I have the equipment, the knowledge or the bals to give it a go and find someone to fix if it goes wrong.

But I WILL not try re-mapping

The thing is that my father understands and nows how to do and repair some eletrical problems, the problem is that he hasn't got any equipement to do that and has to ask someone the equipement.

The main goal is to give him a cristmas present whith the maximum equipment i'm thinking on spending arround 500? 600? at maximum and as i said before the kit has to be for the maximum car's possible because of the garage that he has.

    Thank for the coment m8

If you now any kit other than that whith this price that i'm saying please give me the link because i dont whant to work whith the equipements just whant to give a cristmas present

My friend, Drakov gave the best possible answer any1 here could. you cant buy just one thing or a "couple" of things. but if you really want a starter then OBD reader would be sufficient i guess. you gota crawl before u walk!!

Then only once you have mastered the art of walking, you still need time perfecting them skills reading faults and data checking, then you can

Applogies for bringing up such an old thread.

At M-H-M the other MONTH we was talking about this thread - may bay a bit longer than a few months. Anyway

So if you " gota crawl before u walk" and then you can Walk Like An Egyptian

    What about Moon walking?

Then where does THE POWER come into all this?
