    Lightbulb Tuning Basics - Maps - Electronic Diesel Control – EDC16 module

    Hi everybody,
    i decided to prepare very short explanation of basic Maps needed to tune a diesel engine, based on EDC16 motherboard.
    I hope we can expand this topic to show beginners which maps they need to find in WinOLS or other tuning software to tune their cars.
    It would be great to show map examples (screenshots) of original and tuned maps, as well as map locations (adresses) for forum members to ease their lives.
    I will gladly expand first post to have all important things on one place.

    Electronic Diesel Control – EDC16

    Basic Maps to tune a turbo engine:

    Drivers wish Map: This map shows the required torque based on the RPM and the Throttle position (0-100%).
    The output of this map is Torque in Nm.

    Torque limiter: This map limits the torque of the engine based on RPM and atmospheric pressure (mbar).
    The output of this map is Torque in Nm.

    Nm to IQ conversion map: This map converts the requested Torque in Nm into IQ (injected quantity).
    The output of this map is fuel Injection Quantity (mg/stroke).

    Turbo map: This map set the required boost depending on the requested torque and current RPM.
    The output of this map is Boost in (mbar)

    Turbo limiter map: This map limits the required boost depending on the atmospheric pressure (mbar) and the current RPM.
    The output of this map is Boost in (mbar)

    Smoke limiter map: This map limits the Injection Quantity of fuel depending on airmass (mg) and the current RPM.
    The output of this map is fuel Injection Quantity (mg/stroke).

    Single value boost limiter: This value limits the absolute pressure of the turbo (mbar)
    The output of this map is single value of pressure in (mbar)
