    Got the J-Link in the mail today. I can switch the protection no problem, but when i read the chip it's only FFFF. I've tried to write firmware provided in rar file, it will write no problem, then i secure back the chip, but when i remove power, it revert back to FFFF. Is there something i'm missing?

    When i first write, with chip unsecured, it works good :

    If i read back the file, everything is good :

    Plugging the device back, it won't start. And if i secure the chip, then it goes back to FFFF

    Surely a secured chip will read all 0xFF or whatever regardless of what is in there.
    V Series TMS470 / EEPROM data - encryption / decryption, totally pwned.

    Just to make sure, after writing bin file and securing chip, then my vxdiag unit should become alive again right? Because it's not the case right now... Any idea what i could be doing wrong?

    Ohhh.... I just realised that the bin file is not the STM32 file, it's the firmware file... So i really screwed up in writing this in the STM32... Anyone have a dump of a working STM32 for a GM adapter, or any other adapter for that matter?

    Hello to my colleague in misfortune, there are now two of us here who have killed their VXDiag while trying to read.
    I read somewhere on the Internet the following about software manufacturers protect their products from reading with STM32 with just one bit, i.e. setting a tick in the box to protect the chip. It is impossible to read without removing a tick, but removing its contents of the chip is destroyed and only "FFFFFFF" is read. Accordingly, if you want to read the previously recorded, then do not put the protection of the chip. I checked, works.

    I would also like to find him, but so far all unsuccessfully. The only thing that comes to mind is that it can be written in support of VxDiag that the chip burned out, I soldered a new one and I need a file to program it. Maybe foolish and send. Maybe the money will request and make programming through Timviewer. But most likely they will not answer anything.

    I'm probably gonna buy another unit and try again... And if it works, i'll send you a dump of it.

    You can unsecure stm, but it make mass erase. Is possible, to unsecure without loosing dump, but you have to look on vxdiag manager it can unsecure chip to write firmware without erasing bootloader, so is possible but not that simply.

    It is very interesting and please can anyone explain me what is the benefit compared to the VCX passthru driver?

    Edit:
    Ok, tested by myself.
    Passtru is also limited, with a VCX Nano IDS (Ford/Mazda) it is impossible to use Xentry.
    IDS_Xentry.jpg

    But i read in another forum VCX Nano VW (5054 Emu) work with Xentry.

    Reason for the errormessage is the VCXPT32.dll, the passthru driver from VCX.

    ::10002CB3:: C705 DC1C0110 00000000 MOV DWORD PTR [10011CDC], 0
    ::10002CBD:: C685 E8FDFFFF 00 MOV BYTE PTR [EBP-218], 0
    ::10002CC4:: E8 D96C0000 CALL 100099A2 \:JMPDOWN >>>: MSVCR110.DLL:memset
    ::10002CC9:: 8D85 D8FDFFFF LEA EAX, [EBP-228]
    ::10002CCF:: 50 PUSH EAX
    ::10002CD0:: 68 9CB70010 PUSH 1000B79C \->: Error License For Function: %s
    ::10002CD5:: 8D85 E8FDFFFF LEA EAX, [EBP-218]
    ::10002CDB:: 68 04010000 PUSH 104
    ::10002CE0:: 50 PUSH EAX

    My new question:
    Is there another "check" in the firmware that make it impossible to use a VCX Nano as a real passthru interface?

    ps > Sorry for my bad english

    Hello guys, I have a problem with vcx nano it means that st32f407 is completely cleaned, after uploading GM dump or Ford still does not work, it seems to me that the problem is in external memory has some idea.

    You need to get bootloader, not just a firmware.
