Default Program Peugeot remote key to citroen xsara picasso

Hi Gents, I lost my xsara picasso transponder when replace the key shell, but keep the remote board on hand. I go to bought a brand new remote key of Peugeot for there is no xsara key for selling, I disassembled and found the chipset is same (75078020).
My question is can the Peugeot key be used with my Picasso?
    Thanks a lot!

pay a locksmith as you do not have the tools and knowledge to program another key i see this often as people keep and swapping key shells for flip keys and they do not know

what are doing losing transponders or breaking the glass transponders.

You say like when you broke a 93c46 eeprom while soldering then found one exact same chip from your scrap board, "can I use it as a replacement?"

I paired the key with car today, it works, just need to choose correct remote type in Lexia.

NO, it is far away from that. Your new PCF7936 will never enable the remote pcb. PCF and PCB are paired in factory. ID of remote is written also in PCF. This way when you learn transponder to car the BSI knows your remote ID and accepts it. Any attempts other than paired PCF<->PCB will fail.

Yes, it's possible. That was a bit different or I was misunderstanding that you were just swap the chip.

Fortunately that you're working on Citroen which the BSI software is plenty of remote choices, so you unselected 07CA and select 0C7A ?

Well done! That means Xsara BSI will accept all types of remote from this generation, good to know this. Can you please confirm what choice you selected to make it working? I mean type C7/1C/DB/B8 as configuration in Lexia.

These are just two types out of 8 on C3. I believe Xsara would be similar

WechatIMG11.jpgWechatIMG22.jpgWechatIMG33.jpgHere is the key I purchased from a local PSA dealer, no label, no model code, but there is Lion logo on it, the guy said it is for old model 206 but should work with Picasso also, it cost appr USD$40, but if pair by dealer you need to pay another $50. I found a local locksmith, spent only$15 to achieve it, the locksmith use 3~4 tools and at last it works, he told me need to adjust the remote type.

"to adjust the remote type" should refer to change remote type in the image I posted. The codes mentioned or in the image cannot be physically seen anywhere on the keys but need some tool to read them !
