BMW E36 BMS43 and EWS 2 - Easiest way to align

I am trying to ressurect and old E36 that got flooded. Will be replacing gearbox, DME, EGS, fuel pump then go through km of harness to clean joints e.t.c

I will then need to align DME to EWS2. Now this is the tricky part. Car has 20pin old diagnostic port. I do not have appropriate tools so would like to know if I can succeed with what is at hand i.e

1. ICOM
2. DCAN
3. ODB to 20 pin adapter
4. KTAG
5. Kess
6, VVDI prog
7. ISTA, INPA
8. BMW Extractor software
9. ISN software
10. BMW IMMO Editor 2.42

I first thought I could read the DME dump but cant find BMS43 in KTAG or KESS.

Then I thought ISN program can do but that needs com 1. Not sure it will work with adapter from OBDII to 20 pin port.

I am still working through other issues but will soon need to figure out this part.

What options do I have with my tools? Or must I get new tools for this? Is yes I may need to look for someone to do this.

You need to invest in a few more programmers and adapters for this..
So hope you charging customer an arm and a leg for this (that is to pay for a one time only )

Yes mate,i think you may have all the tools to do the job.
you will need to read the dme with a programmer though,because kess only reads 32kb file,only maps,but you have to read 29fXXX,then find isn,then read ews,and match it on bench,or upload here to help you.!

Or use ews emu,i dont know if this bmw has immo off solutions too.

Thank you. Ill try the E46 Bosch BM43 and see if it can read the E36 BMS43. If that succeeds then I can try read the EWS2. It is the tricky one. I have R270 on the way. Will see if that can read it. Am told it has a habit of bricking when being read. Will update progress.

You need a BMW ISN LA and AK90 and that it, and make sync on EWS from code with ECU Pin, and after that coding with NCSEXpert
