Hex editor and bmw etk will help you...

Hi All.
So… I am learning slowly. I got a BDM100, adapter and frame and I managed to take a copy of my ECU/BMSKP from my F800GS. (BOSCH ME 9.2.0). The software I used came with the BDM100 - 555Pro
Now I need to read up on the next stage…. How can I get some information from the dump? Like the VIN, the current mileage, bike model, etc? Or is there other software I can use? (ISTA+ is not connecting to the ECU. BDM is.) Is the 555Pro the thing I should have been using?
Any info greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Thank you very much for the pointer.
I guessed that the HEX editor would be the tool to go to next. But it is a scary place if I don't know what positions to look at to try to find the data.
So, I am assuming that is where ETK comes in. Can you give me the extra pointer about the BMW ETK, please? I can't quite work out how the part catalog can help me...
With hex editor you can find vin and mileage and etk from model etc

hi and from me...
you speak Greek?
if you know the real mileage you can install an app from android store that convert's Dec's to Hex's then i thing is much easiest to find that you want in dump...

Ah, having looked at the raw data, I think I know what you mean (at least in respect of the VIN). So for anyone reading this thread in the future...
Use either ETK or Google to find the pattern of the VIN number (in my case, starts with "WB102") and then do a text search on the hex file for that pattern. You will eventually find the pattern which will have the usual 17-digit VIN.
Still looking for a way to identify the mileage in the hex file...

Thank you for that Panathaole.
Unfortunately no, I can't speak Greek. I just picked up a few words from my Greek friends. Other words they taught me are probably not polite enough for public forums.
I have pattern-matched the VIN as I said above. The original mileage is not known to me. I figured out I am in bigger problems than I thought. I sent my two ECUs to someone to clone them. It looks like the idiot cloned them the wrong way around (donor to original and not original to donor) (That is why I was looking for the VIN). Well, at least it is what it looks like at the moment. I am still to read out the other ECU. But the original is toast.
I should have just learned how to do this myself in the first place...
Vin and generally all data in me9 ecu are not in standard position. Every time change even in same ecu. I don’t know why.
You can for wba in ascii ...all bmw bikes start with these letters...mileage has a standard position according to data around...the problem is checksum!!!
