Are fake VCDS Cable's prone to 'bad coding'
Hey,
Borrowed a friends VCDS cable. 100% fake clone. Yeah I know, I know.....
Tried coding some modules with it, 2 out of 3 were coded with the wrong coding. I had to go back and fix them with an old-school KKL cable. Are these fake cables prone to bad coding, or is it something else that I'm missing?

Thanks I'll have a look. Do you think this will fix the unstable coding? Or is that just a bad chip on the device? I do read about Atmega chips etc etc....

Give us example, maybe label file is wrong and needs shifted down 1 byte.

WiFi drops out. Not stable at all. They blame other wifi that windows tries to access but that's bollox. It drops out in the middle of a field. Connection drops out on the odd time when using usb cable as well. SEAT's are particularly bad for drops in connection. So it has to be a timing issue in the firmware. Also VCDS is crap at calibrating ABS pump pressure sensors. All that rigmorole pressing brake pedal and holding etc. etc. eventually it loses connection and calibration fails. And b4 anyone starts, its not the laptop, it is the HexNet. If were getting one now I'd get just the top wired version. Makes u wonder if the china ODIS is worth getting. I did have a china VCDS, v11 or 12. Never had a minutes trouble till I bought original.
