I am still looking for a solution for my mazda 3 ad p0610 error.
I think that there should be a sticky subject, showing how to read the eeprom memory, what hard and software is needed.

Seconding Lanike71's reply - I'd be interested in what kind of hardware you guys are using and how you're modifying the loaded data.
The configuration values look like they'd be alterable even through FORScan - but I'll rip open the ECU if I need to.

I've now ordered an X-Prog package as well as in-circuit work probes. I'm new to this, so if there's anything else I'll need in order to get to work with the ECU, I'd appreciate any info.

Update: I pulled the vehicle ID info block through FORScan, resulting in a 128 byte dump. There, however, I noticed a discrepancy in byte 36 between the cold and the hot read, suggesting that if I can get the entire ID block rewritten, the problem might resolve itself. I'm still waiting on the X-Prog and relevant probes, as that will allow me to work on the chip directly, but there's still a chance I could get the issue fixed over OBD-II.

Hopefully my last bump: what fixed the issue for me was to read the as-built configuration data from the PCM while warm through FORScan with a USB connected ELM327 adapter. Then, when the car was cold (i.e. this morning), I loaded up the warm dump and rewrote the PCM configuration data. Speedo/odo worked right away, after clearing DTCs MIL was out. I'll keep an eye on the situation, but at least for me, this seems to have been a fix that did not require disassembly of the PCM.

Hi guys, I have the same problem on my 1.6 petrol mazda 3 bk (error p0610 and dead odometer). I have successfully retrieved the dump from my ecu but idk which memory location should I modify.

Could you please help me?

The vehicle does not give gas in the first start in the morning, it will recover when the vehicle is warmed up. Writes the p0610 code? What's the reason? Can you help me?
