i think it doesnt matter if it is rs232 or usb

inside the rar file, it says "any PC-to-K-line adapter cable (for example this http://www.autoelectric.ru/diagnosti...l-line-v21.htm)"

the interface of the example is rs232, but i think any iso-9141 interface will do the job

With a modified for BMW KKL cable, program does not work with ML270CDI (W163). Tomorrow I will try with unmodified KKL adapter and write what is the result.

I never used carsoft with my modified kkl but instead it works with Inpa 5.0.2, Dis 57, SSS 32...
the modification involves soldering together the 2 pins 7 & 8 inside your kkl and after that you need to invert RI # and DSR # signals to fool the detection of battery and ignition
