some diagnostic tools can do this now

    To reset use tool32:
    *load FRM87.prg (for FRM1)
    *execute job STATUS_LAMPEN_KURZSCHLUSS_COUNTER
this will show a result window, outputs with counter >=50 are blocked

    To reset blocked output:
*execute job "_reset_kurzschluss_sperre" with as argument the hex value of the blocked output.
Use the Table Info window to find this value for the affected output.

The output will now function again and the corresponding light should work

or search google for Gini bmw program that works with Dcan cable

I had a 2014 3 series convertible with counter value 0x23h the other week. Resetting value worked and light was back on. So that's 35 decimal. Has there been a change ?
    V Series TMS470 / EEPROM data - encryption / decryption, totally pwned.

Thank you for your answers. I ordered the Tool32. If I have time, I read the Eeprom again after the reset to compare.
