thanks getting a bit confused as some say left some say right and one stated under drivers floor.
I will go to local VW spares and ask a price they always show the screen to me so should be able to get the location hopefully as already had the floor up and found nothing.
thanks very much for your input.

The comfort module is located on the passenger side. You have to disassemble the clipboard and then you will find it on the upper left side of the storage compartment. Forgive me for my poor knowledge of English but I'm just learning it with the help of "google".

If the Central Conv. does not ulock the door, the most common reason is damaged wires at the pillar - door connector or a damaged door lock. Open the door and then manually lock the door lock and then check. Paste error codes from address 46 (Central Conv.). If the VCDS does not connect to the Central Conv. module, check the CAN-Gateway coding.

already checked door loom at pillars changed lock on passenger door lock worked fine manually until I used central locking now passenger door will not open.
cleared all DTC'S now left with fault aux heater can gateway and fault on passenger door all as above.
when I try to connect to conv unit it cannot read or connect to unit.
very new to using VCD'S so any pointers appreciated.
will need to check what I'm looking for on gate way coding.

Disconnect the battery minus stick for 3 minutes and then try to connect the VCDS to the Comfort Module. If this does not help, check the fuses (for damage and shortages) and Gateway coding depending on the index:
    Byte 01 Bit 1 [46] Central Convenience
Byte 01 Bit 2 [42] Door Electronics (Driver)
Byte 01 Bit 3 [52] Door Electronics (Passenger)
Byte 01 Bit 4 [62] Door Electronics (Rear Left)
Byte 01 Bit 5 [72] Door Electronics (Rear Right
Full description of the Comfort Module coding option on the page:
    http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index...Gateway#Coding
If this does not help, connect the VCDS to the Gatewey and check in the measuring blocks above 100 to 150 (I do not remember exactly) if there is 1 in the Comfort Module and at the Electronics Door (passenger) there is 1.
If it is 1 then the Gateway Module sees the given driver if 0 is a problem.
Connect the VCDS to the Electronics Door (passenger) and see if there is any error in the controller because it may be damaged.
If you manage to connect VCDS with the Comfort Module, do the Adaptation:
Channel 003: Selective (Single) Door Locking
0 = Selective Door Locking OFF - set the value to 0.

will have another go tomorrow and try what you have recommended thanks, these are the coding's on these units do I just use the same codes to replacement units I am not replacing them not yet anyway just thinking ahead as the car had a serious amount of condensation in it due to an overzealous person that valeted it which was when the problems apparently started.

    Gateway coding 3D3F134007008003

    Conv unit coding 819002085103087F2D06840570085FC690FCA0

I use the VCP system personally, but VCDS is very similar. You code the controller by selecting the appropriate bits that are responsible for handling certain functions of the controller.
Turn on the coding helper in VCDS and then you will know what the individual bits in your encoding are responsible for.
