Default Opel Astra H CIM module problems

    Hi guys,

Customer came to my garage with CIM module problems on Astra H. When you press horn, the volume of radio goes up. Also multifunctions on the streering wheel were not working.
I removed CIM, cleaned the pins, and put it back together.
Problem with horn and multifunctions is solved now, but I have another issues.

    1. Turning light stick doesnt come back when you turn
    2. Steering angle sensor (first fault is that it is not calibrated, and when I turn the wheel it get another fault saying steering angle sensor Open Circuit.)

I marked the cooper ring for steering angle sensor and I also marked little white wheel. But now I wonder maybe both wheel and cooper ring turned when I was lifting the cover of CIM

So my question to you guys:

    1. Are there any marks on the board for positioning cooper ring and white wheel?
    2. Can I read security code needed for calibration with opcom? And if I can, how to do it?
    3. Is there any trick with turning lights stick, that I need to know?

sorry for long post, wanted to be detailed

    Best regards!

    1. No, search the web and you should find some images with the wheel in the correct orientation

    2. No, EEPROM read only. Instrument cluster or display are the easiest to get the code out (8 Pin SOIC EEPROMs) PIN is unencrypted

    3. The turn signal cancellation is dependent on a correct steering angle calibration so it should work OK when you calibrate it

PS. re-solder the connectors on the CIM, only cleaning them is not a good solution
