General Question X-Prog 5.55 / Auth

Hello Guys

actually I want to recover a FRM3 of a BMW. I read alot about it in a forum and ppl say the 5.55 is working well with it.

Its 9S12XEQ384

I am new to Xprog and bought a clone with dongle and software (I havent received it yet). After checking the description there was nothing about a AUTH for this Typ. Actually my question is will I be able to read and write dflash/eeeprom of the 9S12?

If not is there any way to do something or should I replace the x-prog. In some other descriptions there are texts about "AUTH for 9S12"

Is the Authentification relevant to the Hardware/Device or the Software?

2. There is no external power supply adapter in that offer. Some ppl say I dont need it, others means it only worked with it. Which kind of Power Supply do I need for it? Inside description I found "15V DC " but what kind of connector?

Hope somebody can help me.

for this device no need external supply voltage when use USB port.
