Default 1990 Ford 2040 CD player problem

    Hi everyone.
I have a 1990's Ford 2040 CD player that I need to get working.
I powered it up and display shows it's asking for code to be entered.
Powered it up again and shorting noise from PCB, now won't power up.
I notice because of it's age the some caps have burst. replaced all caps and now still won't power up.
Can anyone give me any pointers please? Is it possible it has blown a component somewhere?
seem to still have voltages bewtween 5 and 12V around the board but still not coming on.

    Hope someone can help.
    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers,
    Jules.

What is with protection diode? How much current does it takes when you connect +12v?
    Some picture of PCB?

    Regards

Yes they are OK. This unit did flash up asking for the code in the display before the caps blew.

    Hi again,
been testing points on the board, looks like it's the 5v that is missing.

It is hard to help me without boar in front of me. I sad what I can say like this.
Do you have some 78M05 regulator for 5V? Are the capacitors on the good polarity? Have you checked from where you need to get that 5V which is missing?
