    Post Mod Chip

Sorry what do you mean by 'CHIP SET'? I've had my Wii for about 18 months & I need to check my serial number.

The Chipset is the Wii`s DVD drive "brain" depending on what chipset you have will depend on what modchip you can use, altho the D2pro9 you can use on any chipset inc the new d2e you can check what chipset you have by entering you serial here Nintendo-Scene Wii Serial Tracker but the best way to find out for def is to open it and look. I chipped mines with a d2pro v2 soldred and must admit it is a very good chip, I have heard and read lots of good and bad reviews about the solderless clips. I would def go the soldered route, but if you dont feel confident enough doing it yourself then get someone to do it for you.

if your after playing backups/copys on the wii then dont bother with a chip as you can now play backups/copyied games with out the need of a chip

There seems to be some issues, with the backup loader, firstly Waninkoko has apprently stopped working on the app, the load times for the people who managed to get it to work are slow, 3x capped, and VMF's skip. This didn't fill me with confidence first time I read about it and seems it has not improved any, So I will be sticking with the hardware mods that are supported, and proven extremely reliable!! And with a sofmod Nintendo won't be long in releasing some sort of update that counters it, for people who want to play online, the hardmods are almost undetectable.

Best chip at the moment would have to be the new Wiizard chip and can be used for all chip sets....

    Default Wasabi for me!!

I have installed many wasabi chips in a large range of different models of the wii including d2c2 and D2e. Works brilliant and new firmware even stops updates from within the games. Used with a wii clip only one wire requires soldering - the f wire - not too difficult though.
