No probs! have you found it to be a long term solution with the pumps that you have repaired?

    this is with vp44
    see here :
    Diesel Fuel Pump

...realistically in your experience do you think its worth repairing the electronics of the pump?...
Yes !the repair of the vp44 is complex -there is aluminium to solger ,but worth every minute of your work.
I can not tell for Rover whether the problem is in the electronic ,ypu do not tell what error is stored in the ECU.Measure from GND to all pins of the sensor -there is 5V to control the sensor.1 of all see stored errors!

thanks, I really appreciate the advice. The fault has been confirmed as electrical but sounds like it could be a bit hit and miss without an accurate diagnoses of the error.

I would rather get a new pump than fork out ?250 for a repair.

Any ideas would be much appreciated!!!

    Zorro1,

Last question, I promise I am going to buy a pump of a Rover 420 1998 Diesel. I have been assured the car has an inter-cooler. can you confirm that the pump will fit my rover 25 2000.

Thanks in advance, you have been a great help!

The part number of your original pump should be identical to the one you intend to buy.

The engine must be the same!/4 Cyl.,or 6 Cyl.And the ECU must be identical.
    Diesel Fuel Pump
here says the part nomber is the same. But i think :Can not be exchanged. If the motor is not the same!

Here is my solution. ASTRA 2.0dti-98

Transistor changed irfz44n (one conector broken on the orgn.)
    clered the code 1631.
the motor starts after an hard try to get the air out.
but runs greate to 2500-3000rmp ,cant get it running higer.
    Now the intressting part.
The overleak/pressurevalve on the Vp44 failed and the pump codnt build upp enought pressure to run whit moore feed and thats why the engine strudggeld on speed/rmp.
i gess i had let som dirt effect it or the valve just failed .

in this forum some other had problems whit this poor running too so i hope they have the same fault so they dont loose hope an try an other transistor.

got the pump delivered today. total disaster not the same, its the mechanical older brother. obviously the guy does not know the difference between an inter-cooler and a airfilter. anyone got a pump in London that they can get to me by 11am tomorrow morning?

You must use another transistor IRFZ44n not have enough power,I use IRFZ48N for Astra G.
