not being funny but you could at least TRY to search on the forums and google too (i would say for the most part google is far more knowledgable than alot of people here including me) for reviews etc before posting a question everyone else, who do no work of their own, post.. time n time again , the benefits of it is you learn other things on the way too, like what formatting in FAT32 is, in comparison to creating a folder, calling it FAT32 and crossing fingers/praying etc

tell me about it, lot of people are lazy, want fix and now, urgent no tv. can count the numbers of questions i hae asked on one hand, and thats in 8 years. always read first before asking, might do some peoples brains good.

no, ill try that mate. ive have tried to download some new firmware but when i go in2 usb on the box it says 0kb on the file so I cant copy it onto the box. am i doing somethin g wrong ? thanks

0kb reference to a file that should be a few hundred k sounds like corruption. redownload the 2.03 firmware.

if your pc savvy, use disk manager on windows xp or fdisk from command prompt to delete partition on your USB disk and reformat as FAT32, if you have a windows setup disk use that to get to the setup shell and format that way if you prefer. but doing this properly is very important.
a google search should also give you a list of third party programs that make formatting FAT32 alot easier

bottom line is that you issue seems to me like a file/download/usb disk format issue rather than a problem with the sv5 not accepting the 2.03 file (remember to POWER OFF BEFORE plugging/unplugging ANY USB device from the SV5 unit)

which might well be a good thing, as the results are relative to the search string entered in google, so he/she maywell find the answer they seek in an already existing post made by somebody else, either in this forum or any other, rather than starting a new post etc, there must be hundreds of near identical questions asked in a brand new thread/post, and the same old people having to reply with the same old replies.

hi i av ad my sv5 nearly a wk now i have tried loads ov websites and learnt alot but i ad a sv4 that i ad for a few yrs and never ad any problems with it. now i have bought the sv5 and got the ver 2.05 on it and its workin apart from wen it freezes every couple ov minutes and wen u flick from channel 2 channel it takes about a minute for each page 2 load. i have tried ver 2.02 and 2.03 but now i am havin the problem wen i copy off the memory sick and plug it in2 the sv5 its sayin 0kb. i have tried changing the scart but still no joy can anybody please help thanx paul.

is it 0kb on ur pc you downloaded it to? or is it 0kb on the memory stick only? please check this... dont guess, whichever it is 0kb on is corrupted, as i said ud prob need to redownload the file and maybe also reformat FAT32.. if you wanna scroll up n read the suggestions/ideas presented to you and see how you get on

You may find that we are quite newbie friendly here, (maybe not of late given the current cabling migration). Pointing a new member to a similar thread would be a better way to go.

Plus its the person's own decision to whether they reply to a thread or not. We were all new to forums at one time or other.

thanks its 1kb on the pc and on the memory stick but when on the sv5 via usb it says 0kb, down loaded alot of versions alot of times but still no joy its a nightmare. do you no of any websites i could use for the software ? thanks

def a prob with the file itself, youll need to download it should be around 700kb, not sure of the exact size, if youre having issues best to download it using a different pc/laptop/phone etc, if you want i can email you the file, the file youre downloading may well be corrupt.

bottom line it definitely isnt 1kb in size

try a diff pc and reformat your mem stick on that.. see how you get on
