Default Kessy Key not found error on Octavia 2.0 TDI

Recently my cousin purchased an used Skoda Octavia 2.0 TDI. There is an issue with keyless entry system. car only start in emergency mode ( by bringing key to near start/stop button and press the button with the key ). Also it keeps showing up "Key Not found" error while driving the car. Any clue on fixing this?
I tried replacing battery on key but still same issue. Do I need to replace whole lock set with new one?
