Default Mini R56 CAS 3 corrupt - help please

    Hi,

I've this Mini R56 that after a lot of tests... I found that it won't turn on due to a corrupt CAS software...

After reading CAS on bench it seems that ISN it's FFFF at least according to VVDI.

Can someone help me repair CAS software or sync CAS with DME (EDC16C35)

Please find attached readings of CAS and DME.

Thank you so much in advance.

    With BR,
    PM.

I didn't check yet ECU sotware...

What I did was cloning the cas to a "new" one and still not turning on...
Then I programmed a key for the "new" CAS (with it's software) and car turned on. Not starting, of course...
Thow I wrote the software from the "new" CAS to the original CAS and car also turned on.

    So I "found" that's a software problem...
    Not a CAS hardware problem...

And after looking at CAS software file with VVDI I found that I've ISN all FFFFs
And with the "new" one (which it's the same hardware/software) I've a long ISN

    By the way...
Shot ISN from ECU is: 5ED4

    Thanks.

I saw 5E D4 in cas too...if want try changing flash file in cas if you think its bad?

But eeprom in ECU checksum is off. that is why i say most likely ECU software.

You took the dash out to remove the CAS and read the ECU, very big job.

If I was you I would post the picture of the errors diagnostic and maybe receive "no guess" answer.

    Thanks again.

I've already tried to change flash (that was my first idea... :-)) without sucess... .-(

Regarding ECU, as I said I don't know yet, as I didn't yet started the car...

But anyway, in spite of having another problem with ECU the car at least should turn on... and with both CAS doesn't turn on with original software.
But it turns on with both CAS with the "new" (donor CAS) software.
That's how I found that I've a problem with software and not hardware...

And as I mentioned with VVDI I have reading of donor CAS ISN and with original CAS it shows FFs.

So as mentioned tried to change flash and nothing changed. So it must be eprom software. Probablly ISN ?

    Yes...
    It's our work...
    :-)

Regarding DTCs, the only one I have it's on CAS. CAS internal fault or something like that...

That's why I began to change it...

And with original software on the both CAS, the car sometimes wakes up... (not turning on, of course) and red lock on cluster.
It wakes up "from nothing"... alone...
    :-)

Of course, another solution can be change ECU eprom to adapt to the new CAS

    with ISN:

    FDCBC2C75138DCEA19A4130EB2A17BEB (Donor CAS ISN)

If someone can correct ECU ISN (with the above one),

and then I can change the VIN and mileage on CAS.

    ;-)

    Thanks for your comments.

Please find attached full readings (eprom + flash) and photos from VVDI from both CAS.

If you look at the photos we have ISN at FFs on the ORI CAS.

    Thanks again!

Stop searching for the not existing errors. Just write those files and start the car.

    Thanks for your help.
I wrote your files, but car doesn't turn on...
However, It seems diferent... I don't made a "lot of tests", but it seems that it's not "awakening" from nothing as it was doing before...

Now, I don't have any DTCs on CAS but it doesn't recognize the key... the cluster doesn't even complains about unrecognized key with a key that doesn't belong to the car.
    Cluster completelly off...

    :-(
