Mechanical key code Peugeot 308

Does anyone know where to find the mechanical key code for a Peugeot 308. It should be between 1000 and 2000. There is a number laser etched in the ignition switch 1204 this is the electrical part of the switch not the locking part.
Also on the driver's door lock there is 1684 written in a white marker

I've tried both with no success but not sure if it's the code or my dodgy x6/v8 key cutter that is getting it wrong.
