    Default Land Rover Evoque "Smart Key Not Recognised"

    Anybody had same problem with Land Rover Evoque "Smart Key Not recognised. Reposition or place as shown and press start button" ?
    Remote operate the car, can open and close etc. but can't start.

    For sure car after accident. Bought with no keys. 1 key added to RFA. Then Key operate central locking, but cant start the car. No dtc's. If I get BCM into my hands I will try re-add new key.

    try another key....some key have issu with starting and make sure your using same frequency

    Had exacly same problem on jag . Remote work car not start. Than added key by obd

    Will try new one BUT I have done them already and never problem. I know frequency is all good.

    2013 year
    Model 2013-2015
    Dont know it was key issue or something else. First time added to dump. Car far away. Not worked. That owner brought car to me and all done by obd.

    But this is 2017/2018 not work by obd.

    Rumours trucode with latest software can do all rovers unto 2018 all keys lost in 5min.
    Tools owned: Hammer, Chisel, Crowbar, Punch, Chainsaw, Cutter and Brain!!!

    What is smartkey you use? There are 2 model: ID46 and Hitag Pro.

    ID46 from 2010 - upto maybe 2012, later is Hitag Pro.

    I’ve had this happen with a 2013 vehicle that come from auction. Key would work only if held under steering column I added key with avdi and it never started again not sure if avdi issue or what but keys were still showing in bcm. I tried reprogramming but not success. It went to Land Rover where they fitted new kvm and programmed 2 keys after being there a month!
